Aubrey’s Appeal Approved

On Thursday (May 17) the City of Knoxville Board of Zoning Appeals approved several variance requests submitted by Randy Burleson pertaining to the proposed construction of a new neighborhood Aubrey’s restaurant at 2226 Chapman Hwy. With great support from the community and a unanimous vote, the approval will allow Aubrey’s to construct their building with greater setback from the highway, reduced height, and increased parking that will also serve Kern’s, planned trails, and Fort Stanley. The approval was based on several factors, including the planned location being on the border of the South Knoxville Waterfront Development, plans to provide complementary accents to and prevent shadowing of the Historic Kern’s Bakery, and added landscaping & sidewalks conducive to bicycle & pedestrian traffic.
